Russian authorities have decided to take control over betting on the Internet via providing censorship. From now on, the local online betting sites will be tightly monitored.
According to Izvestia.ru, Roskomnadzor blocks websites with high traffic activities.
It was reported that more than six thousand gaming portals had been recently blocked for breaking the rules of Roskomnadzor.
Over 115 online gambling establishments and betting sites were banned by the Russian officials during only two weeks in June.
Maxim Krasnov, a representative of the Russian Federal Tax Service (FTS), reported that this federal body of executive authority had closed over 6,000 gambling and betting portals due to the violation of the current local gambling-related regulations.
The Russian gambling authorities may block several very popular sports betting portals, including Championat, express.ru, and others. If they provide illegal activities, their owners will have to pay high fines.
The Russian Duma aims at removing all illicit gaming operators from the market. The gambling-related services should be provided only by the licensed organizations. Triobet, Unibet, 888, Betway, and other European providers are currently unable to provide their offers to Russian fans of betting and gambling.
Roskomnadzor is only willing to cooperate with betting and gambling resources that use the TSUPIS payment system, since it is able to protect Russian gamblers and bettors from scammers and fraudsters.
