Two gambling establishments in Las Vegas have started to accept bets on horse racing. This used to be absolutely impossible.
William Hill, which is the largest bookmaker in Nevada, has decided to open virtual racing at casinos of the Plaza and Silver Sevens. The company wants to provide betting on online racing at other casinos in Nevada.
It is just the first attempt of William Hill to try accepting wagers on online racing. Depending on the result of this experiment, the company will decide whether to implement this kind of entertainment more widely or not.
The online races will take place every five minutes. Various types of wagers will be available: win, place, show, exactas, and trifectas. Between eight and twelve horses will participate in each race.
To be sure, the company does not believe that virtual racing can replace real-life competitions. However, bettors may place their wagers during breaks in real-time racing.
Representatives of the company are not ready to talk about the size of potential revenues.
