Several poker tournaments were organized this weekend in New Jersey. All events, except for only one, with guaranteed prize pools, which exceeded $10,000, did not provide payouts of the mentioned guaranteed winnings. However, some participants managed to win quite high amounts of money.
BADBEATSBYME was the most successful player in New Jersey this weekend. He could beat two hundred opponents and achieved victory in the PokerStars NJ Sunday Special Event with the $50,000 guaranteed prize pool. The winner pocketed $10,225. The following players were able to occupy the leading positions in the final standings and to collect huge payouts: Jeremy "FunkyJesus" Danger (a 2nd-place finish and $7,500), Edwin "GiantGeniu$" Roman (a 3rd-place finish and $5,650), Angel "Chr0meKing" Lopez (a 4th-place finish and $4,250), and Mitch "TrumpsDong" Friedberg (a 5th-place finish and $2,900).
Edwin Roman could also occupy the fifth position in the event with the $50,000 guaranteed prize pool. He used the nickname GiantGenius and earned $3,550. The competition was won by Rick_Grimes who defeated KNIEM7 in the heads-up series. The winner earned ten thousand dollars. As for the runner up, his payout reached $6,800.
The next event was called $30,000 GTD Weekly Sunday. The tournament was held on the websites WSOP.com NJ and 888poker NJ. Grimmy101 won it and pocketed $8,400. Steven Edwards took the second place and collected $4,800.
