The Everest Poker online poker room has recently informed its users from France that they will not be able to enjoy its services starting from May 31, 2016. The associated company of the establishment called Betclic Everest Group, which monitors operations of the Betclic Poker online poker room, will focus its efforts in France exclusively on the Betclic brand.
EverestPoker.fr does not leave its users out in the cold and offers two options to them: it is possible to fully withdraw their funds from accounts of the online poker room or to transfer them to the accounts of BetclicPoker.fr, fully preserving their entire bankroll, VIP statuses, and collected summit points. The funds of players who ignore all available options will be automatically transferred to opened accounts on the website EverestPoker.fr in early October 2016.
The experts on the gambling industry find this step more than justified, since it is a quite costly affair even for large-scale gambling operators to support 2 similar online poker rooms, focusing on the depressive French poker market.
According to the research based on determination of the seven-day moving average of the number of gamblers playing ring games and carried out by PokerScout, there are the following three best online poker networks operating in France:
- Winamax 1,100 gamblers (46.2 %);
- PokerStars.fr 700 gamblers (29.4 %);
- PartyPoker. Fr 300 gamblers (12.6 %).
The IPoker.fr network occupied the last place in these rankings. It attracted only 280 gamblers, comprising 11.8% of the total market.
Fabrice Soulier, a popular local professional poker player, has been an official representative of Everest Poker for several years. However, as soon as the online poker room shuts down on the French market, he will not join Betclic Poker, making this fact clear to his subscribers on Facebook, saying that he will "visit EPT Monaco without the logo." At the moment, Soulier does not have time to despond, since he is playing in the GPL tournaments, being a member of the Paris Aviators team.
